The Amerika Haus Archive is being built around the documents formerly held by the library of the Amerika Haus Berlin. At the moment it contains digital versions of Amerika Dienst, published by the US Embassy between 1950 and 1994. Later publications can be found at http://amerikadienst.usembassy.de/.
Amerika Dienst was aimed at communicating information about the USA to the German population after World War II. It published news on the topics of economy, politics and science as well as on cultural life in America. Most of the documents are unique and highly valuable to everyone interested in recent German-American history. Note: all Amerika Dienst articles are written in German.
